There’s something about a chambray shirt that just screams All-American to me. I usually associate it with even more denim and images of red, white and blue. I’ve about worn my chambray into the ground but still refuse to retire it. I love how versatile it is, and how easily it can easily be toughened up with some faux leather.

I wore this last weekend to go to yoga and brunch with Tracy.  I knew we were going to head out to eat immediately after class, so I needed to wear something comfortable, yet put together for going to a restaurant.  For yoga, I obviously left the boots in my locker along with the chambray shirt and put them on again when class was done.  It worked perfectly!

Now I’m on the hunt for more work out gear I can wear immediately after a workout without looking like a gym rat/slob after.  If anyone has any suggestions, throw them my way!

Seeing Red

Seeing Red 1{Blouse: H&M (thrifted); Pants: H&M (thrifted); Sweater: Forever21; Booties: Forever21; Necklace: Gift; Watch: Michael Kors (gift); Camera Bag: THEIT}

Last week was one of those weeks were I was seeing red my entire time in the office.   Actually, this week has been pretty much the same.  The day I had worn this ironically was the worst day. I’ve been working through major payment issues with one of my vendors that affects all my customers, and it’s been ridiculously stressful trying to get it all sorted out.  That plus having an employee quit along with about 2-3 staff members on vacation next week, and my stress level is near through the roof.

This week, especially today I’m dealing much better with the stress.  Tonight I have “sweaty beers” with my gym girl friends after spin class (where immediately following class we hit up the local bar), which I’m looking forward to and it’s getting me through the day.  I’m also making it a point to hit up the gym, do some yoga and meditate daily to get rid of some of my nervous energy so I can at least sleep soundly.  We’ll see how it goes the rest of this week, it can’t get much worse.

And here you have it, my 30th and final post of my summer 30 for 30 wardrobe challenge.  I’m so happy I finally completed it and have it on the site.  It’s funny though that as I write this, I’m wearing a sweater and boots now that it’s fall and here I am in this photo wearing shorts and sandals.  Next time I have to not procrastinate and get these photos up and on the site within a few days of taking the photos.  I have no excuse nowadays now that I have an iPad and it’s totes easy.  That or make it a goal to finish the challenge within the allotted season.

Stay tuned tomorrow for a recap post including photos and links to all thirty outfits.

For years I’ve tried to successfully pull off a headscarf and always felt more like a pirate than fashionable. Keiko Lynn did a great tutorial on how she ties her head scarves, so I figured I’d try it out and loved the results!

My hubby said I looked like the Chiquita Banana lady but then again, the last time he made fun of one of my outfits I ended up on MTV Style, so he has no credibility in my book.

Summer Stage

Let’s rewind back to day sixteen….

As promised, here’s my super late post on what I wore to Summer Stage.  My friend Glenna and I went to go see Jim Gaffigan (my favorite comedian EVER)  perform in Central Park.

Here’s what I wore.

Day Sixteen 2

Day Sixteen 3

Despite it taking me over an hour and half to get home from work (a drive that should only take 20 minutes) and then another 30 minutes to get to the park from my apartment, it was totally worth it.  Once I had a beer in hand and some Asia Dogs, I was in the best mood ever.  The weather as well as the scenery in the park couldn’t have been more perfect.  It was the epitome of what summer nights should be.

As expected, Jim Gaffigan was hilarious and actually did some new material I hadn’t heard yet which totally made my night.  His opener, a guy named John Pinette was pretty funny too though I he obviously has something against vegans.  A good third of his act was devoted to how he’s confused about vegan diets and juicing appliances.  Boo!  Stuff like that makes me wish people would do their research first as to what something is all about  prior to making public statements in front of thousands of people.  Especially in this city which is full of vegans, vegetarians and eco and health minded residents!  Lucky for him I’m a vegan that can laugh along and take stereotypes in stride and not personally.  The rest of his act was still pretty funny and he did sound just like Gilbert Gottfried, so I guess I’ll give him a pass for stupidity.

Sunday Shirt

Day Thirteen 1-Display
{Shirt: Vintage from Buffalo Exchange; Denim Shorts: H&M; Sandals: Alloy}

This shirt is ridiculously comfortable and perfect for summer.  It’s not see through, but  the breeze travels right through it, keeping me cool.  So it’s a go-to item for me on weekends.  I also wore this shirt the previous Sunday during this 30 for 30 challenge, so I hereby dub it my Sunday Shirt.

I’d Forget My Head If It Wasn’t Attached

I’ve been quite forgetful the past week. First I totally forgot I had left these jeans at the local dry cleaners to be altered. When I remembered, I was like “Yay! Another option!” I had totally forgotten I had included these when I originally picked my 30 items.

Then when putting together my post for today I noticed I totally skipped over this day 11 post, and went straight to posting Day 12. Whoops! I guess I need to get more sleep or something.

No Time to Eat

Day 8-1 Display
{Dress: H&M; Chambray Shirt: Old Navy; Wedges: Dolce Vita for Target; Cuff: H&M}

So yesterday I get home with a plan.  I was going to be home by 6 pm, order some takeout, and while waiting for the takeout, was going to take my photos.  Then the food would arrive, I could eat it fairly leisurely, and then at around 6:50 or so run on over to the gym for my spin class and personal training session.

I get home and the first thing I always do is feed the pets.  Our cat has diabetes, so the lucky girl always gets an insulin shot with her meals twice a day.  I go to grab a needle, and sure enough we’re out.  So then I wonder, if she doesn’t get her shot until tomorrow, will she be ok?  A quick Google search tells us that no, she can in fact go into a coma, so I now have to shove a trip to the pharmacy in my 50 minute window.

So I order our food, take my photos (and remember to turn the auto-focus on!), run to the pharmacy, and by the time I get home it’s already 6:35.

Great.

I throw on my gym clothes, determine there’s not enough time to eat, and proceed to go to the gym and am the crankiest bitch you’d ever meet.

At least I had my takeout waiting for me when I got home at 8:30 pm.
