As mentioned in my post yesterday, Jim and I took a quick detour to the Old City District of downtown Philly on our way home to Brooklyn. Here are some of my favorite shots from our quick, hour long walk.

Jim and I this past Sunday took a quick road trip to Philly to visit his family and go to a birthday party. Philly is only a two hour car drive from Brooklyn, so it’s a great same day road trip destination.
On our way back instead of going the more direct, highway route we took a detour and made a quick stop at the Old City District. Jim and I love all things old and historical so we took a quick hour break to stretch our legs, walk around and check out the sites. He also got to reminisce a bit being he grew up in the area.
This alley proved to be the perfect backdrop for a few quick outfit shots. Jim has the patience of a saint and eye of a professional photographer. He totally called that the lighting was perfect and it was.
Stay tuned tomorrow for some of my favorite shots of the amazing, historical architecture we saw during our walk.

The second day of our weekend Philly trip we went to my husband cousin’s baby’s christening party. All his cousins for the most part are our age and have kids around the same age, all of whom they brought to the party. My hubby and I however were the creepy couple who brought our dog because we don’t have kids. I even dressed my dog in the most adorable Christmas sweater.

During the 30 for 30 challenge my hubby, puppy and I make a trip to Philly to visit my in-laws. We stayed overnight at a local hotel (pictured), visited with my mother-in-law and helped her move some stuff into storage. We also had an amazing takeout dinner from Sketch (who’s vegan bean burger was to die for).
I love short weekend trips. Writing this post reminds me I need to plan more of them. They’re such perfect mini-vacations.
