My Weekend According to Instagram

6 May

This past weekend Jim and I enjoyed an extended one, getting to show my college bestie Gina and her boyfriend Mark around town. We covered a lot of ground in three days, and I’m still getting through the few hundred photos I took over the course of the weekend.  Next time I need to learn to stick to one camera and not three!

Here’s some of my favorites I managed to snap on my iPhone and post to Instagram as we were out in about.

Untitled

We enjoyed coffee from Caffe Capri EVERY morning.  They seriously have the BEST coffee in Brooklyn // Stopped for brunch at Champs Diner

Untitled

We did some serious art gawking, especially at MOMA // Spotted this book at Poseman’s Books in the Chelsea Market and am convinced I need a vegan version of this Mondrian inspired cake for my upcoming birthday this July

Enjoyed beyond fantastic weather this entire weekend, especially during our visit to the High Line, where I spotted this fantastic mural // There were some new installations along the park that weren’t there during my last visit.  This one in particular was stunning, the mirrored glass made the side of the building blend into the sky

Hot High Line

This past Tuesday, I took the day off from work for an extended Memorial Day holiday. Jim and I spent the day in Manhattan visiting the High Line extension in Chelsea, and then doing some gallery hopping in the area. It’s safe to say we were both pretty “arted-out” after the weekend was over.

It was ridiculously hot out, so I decided to try out an outfit similar to my Memorial Day Inspiration board and go with a breezy leopard blouse, shorts and wedges. I seem to be gravitating towards blouses and shorts a lot this season.

Stay tuned for posts on both our High Line adventure as well as our gallery hopping in the next day or so!

The High Line

9 Sep

At the "Icons Remix" show.

Me at the High Line Park.

I know NYC has tight spaces, but the size of this restaurant is cray-zee!

On Labor Day the husband and I set out to Manhattan to check out the High Line Park.  I had never been though my hubby has, and he’s been dying to take me there on a day off from work.  Labor Day was the perfect excuse!

It was an absolutely gorgeous day outside!  The weather was perfect!  After checking out the park, we walked all over the city checking out various stores and exhibits.  We hit up the Icon’s Remix show at a gallery in the Meatpacking District which was really awesome.  From the Meatpacking District and Chelsea we then took a quick cab ride downtown to the West Village and did some furniture window shopping, as well as scoped out a variety of galleries and stores.

We ended the day with a Vietnamese dinner out and then proceeded back home on the train to collapse from exhaustion in our apartment.  I couldn’t ask for a more perfect way to end to end summer.
