I know it’s taken me long enough, but here’s number 26 of my summer 30 for 30 challenge. I was originally planning on sucking it up and taking all the photos for my remaining four outfits this weekend, but then Irene ruined those plans. Damn you Irene!
Holiday weekends I always forget to get photos. I’m too damn busy. I’ll have my camera with me but I’ll never take it out of my bag.
This was last Sunday during 4th of July weekend. My husband and I met up with my best friend and her boyfriend for a few cocktails. On our walk home, I remembered I forgot to get my photos, and my husband happily stepped in to take a few for me.
It’s really funny to me how different it is taking photos in front of him instead of a tripod. I make really silly, goofy smiley faces when he takes my photos. They’re 100% genuine, but goofy nonetheless. He makes me kinda self concious in a cute girly way. Which is weird for me because there’s nothing about me that’s normally cute and girly. Ask any of my friends, they’d tell you I’d probably punch you in the face if you called me that.
Oh, and how awesome are these shorts! I found them at the Market Publique loft sale here in Williamsburg back several months ago. They were actually unfinished. They were much longer and not hemmed. I had them altered and now totally love them. I can’t believe I forgot I had them in my 30 challenge items until day 19. You’ll probably be seeing these shorts a lot in the final 10 days of the challenge so I can make up for my forgetfulness.

I had a Groupon to use at the Housing Works Thrift stores in Manhattan, and used it to score the dapper looking menswear style vest. Apparently you can layer these things on over everything, including chambray shirts, and still manage to look pretty badass. I have a feeling I’ll be living in this thing all summer.
I was super cranky most of the day today. To try to tame my crankiness, my husband took me to my favorite vegan bakery to get a cupcake. Here’s a photo of me stuffing my face.
I was feeling pretty ” shlubby” Saturday when I woke up. I had a long week at work and was absolutely exhausted with no motivation to get out of my pajamas.
Being it’s not socially acceptable to roam the streets of Williamsburg in my jammies, this is what I came up with. A simple chambray button down shirt, black leggings and houndstooth flats. As simple as that. All of which are just as comfy as said jammies and at least looked nice enough I could take a walk with the hubby and Portia to the farmer’s market and dog run and for them not to be embarrassed to be seen in my presence.
