Here are some of my favorite images I shot during our visit to the High Line park extension this past Tuesday.
Edit: There’s been a lot of comments on the man waving from the window in the last photo. He’s actually a cardboard cutout, which I had though was pretty rad.
Very cool.
I really loved this place in NY!!! Great!!!
Very industrial urban chic — love ’em (especially the last one…discovering the person waving was a nice surprise!).
π
Best part is that wasn’t someone waving. It was a cardboard cutout! Very clever if you ask me.
That. Is. AWESOME.
Now I’m off the browse the Internet to see if I can find one for my own window…
π
what Up!!!! BROOKLYN!!!!!
Lovely combination of old and new architecture! Makes a city come alive!
Ahh I am so in love with the Highline!
Me too! It’s one of my favorite places to visit in Manhattan. Though I still think Brooklyn’s the better borough π
Agreed!!
Love the Highline!

Thanks for the share!
Interesting photos!
Thank you! I tend to feel a bit like an art nerd when I photograph stuff, so I appreciate that!
Love this place…..great shots!
Amazing pictures!
These are absolutely brilliant photos. I love when I have the chance to get over to the High Line. Even though it’s often crowded, I still find a refreshing calmness.
Thank you! I agree on it’s calmness. There was a school trip visiting the the park while we were there and you’d never really know the difference.
I had never heard of the Highline until recently, and i think it is so freaking cool! I don’t know when I will ever get to NYC, but when I do, I am hittin’ the trail!
Interesting photos.
I love the last picture with the guy waving through the window. It just adds so much character.
It’s funny because he’s a cardboard cutout. I did a double take and then remembered a typical NYer probably would wave like that π
Lol. Well that makes it all the better! π
Awesome urban art you’ve captured here. Only in NY we can see some fresh new modern hip art. I’ll I see when I drive around LA is graffiti and overwritten graffiti as is gang names. I thought that was Paquiao for a second in that 3rd pic.
Thanks! The piece in the third photo is actually a JR. He’s one of my and my husband’s favorite street artists, so it was a treat to see he had work by the high line we were unaware of!
Great pictures, thanks for sharing!
Love the photos and the blogs theme

Love the shots. Hard to believe there is such a great spot in the middle of Brooklyn.
You Matter! Smiles, Nancy
Thank you Nancy! High Line Park is in Manhattan. As you can see from the photos, it was worth the trip from Brooklyn to check it out! π
Hmmmm. I didn’t read correctly. Manhattan is even better. I’m going to check this out more. I don’t visit NYC often but when I do, would like to see this. Thanks. You Matter! Smiles, Nancy
New York City would love to have you! Come visit us soon! π
Cool shots; the photos brought out the essence of the place. Haven’t been to NYC, I’ll check the place as soon as I got there. Cheers on making this post to freshly pressed, by the way. π
